The Old Cattle Barn is a part of a charming 18th century farmhouse set halfway up a steep and picturesque hillside in the peaceful Calder Valley. The cosy space is newly renovated and designed for a perfect home away from home experience. To the rear of the property is a direct footpath to the Pennine Bridle Way. Just a few minutes walk will immerse you in stunning panoramic views where you can take in the wild and rugged beauty of the Yorkshire moors. You won't believe Manchester is just 25 minutes away. Your accommodation is the ground level of the converted barn which retains the natural features of exposed stonework and deep set windows. Thick Yorkshire stone walls make it both a cosy retreat in the winter and cool and refreshing one in the warmer months. The entire space is newly renovated and designed for complete convenience and comfort. We've done a bit of globe-trotting ourselves so the decor conveys a hint of a few of our wanderlust adventures
We are Andy, Crystal and our two kiddos Reuben (8) and Delancey (6), we live in the main house which is connected to the barn, however the barn is completely private with its own entrance and is yours to relax in while you are here. We love to travel and explore and we love being in the great outdoors We appreciate people and as both travelers and hosts we love to share all the good that life blesses us with. You'll have our number or you can come and knock at the door. We are more than happy to give you local advice on walking & biking routes, places to eat and transport or just to have a friendly chat. Recent review on AirBNB - Mar 2022 We had the most amazing time for a little spontaneous trip. We couldn’t of asked for better, more welcoming hosts with a gorgeous house! we absolutely loved the banana bread, too! We loved it that much we even got more!! The little touches to such a nice place were amazing and we would def come and stay again! Felt so welcomed by everyone in the town as well as the hosts so thank you! Charlotte We truly love welcoming our guests and value meeting new people :)
Calderdale is a walker and biker's paradise. Whether you're a roadie or a mountaineer there are endless trails and routes to explore through forests and across moors. You won't run dry of amazing sights to see in this place with its rich history and terrain. From the house its a 1 mile hike up to Gaddins Dam reservoir where you can take a dip at 'Britain's highest beach.' Walk or cycle the Penine Bridle Way over to Stoodley Pike or catch a local bus to Hebden Bridge and stroll about the arty shops and cafes. Catch a steam train to Keighley and discover the home of the Bronte sisters in the quaint town of Haworth or take a short drive or bus ride to Hardcastle Crags, The Bride Stones or one of the many local reservoirs. If you fancy a day of shopping you can hop on the train into Manchester and indulge in the trendy delights of Britain's second largest city and still return to the quiet country retreat. Todmorden is a relaxed and bohemian little town with a rich history and a compassionate heart of gold. It boasts a truly wonderful selection of pubs and restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines that also offer delivery.
