Woodside Steading offers fantastic, relaxed and spacious self-catering accommodation in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire. A 500 meter uphill gravel track leads to the comfortable holiday let. It is a characterful 19th century detached two-bedroom converted stone steading set within the peaceful grounds of our home (4 acres). Woodside Steading is perfect for couples in search of a comfortable and romantic retreat, for families requiring all the ease of home and for friends travelling together. This cottage is like a home with wood-burning stove, well equipped kitchen, galleried living room, large master bedroom suite, separate dining area, spacious second bedroom, ample parking and space for BBQ's on the patio area which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. We encourage you to forget the rat race, relax and slow down in beautiful Aberdeenshire and enjoy the tranquil countryside, quiet lanes, rich history and fantastic places to explore. Walking, cycling, skiing and fishing are all readily available on our doorstep, whilst stunning beaches are only a 45-minute drive away.
We are located in the village of Kennethmont, near to the charming market town of Huntly. Woodside Steading is nestled amongst the rolling hills adjacent to the National Trust Property of Leith Hall, with spectacular views of the Tap’o’Noth Hill Range. Woodside Steading offers the perfect location to experience from the grounds the natural world in all it's beauty from dark skies (twinkling stars and if you're really lucky the Northern Lights!) to wildlife (foxes, red deer, wildcats, squirrels etc), Our elevated position on the side of the hill, allows guests to experience the wonders of the Scottish weather, with four seasons possible in one day! Watch as the clouds roll in, the rainbow appears and the sun shines through all from the comfort of our cosy steading. Lovely lovely Aberdeenshire - "Castle Country", "Whisky Country", "Stone Circle Country". rolling countryside quickly ascends to moor and mountain, or descends to sandy beaches (16miles at Balmedie) or spectacular cliffs and coves. No holiday would be complete without a family hill walk onto Bennachie to see the whole county stretched out before you in every direction.
