Welcome to Worstead Estate - our sanctuary in the North Norfolk countryside, where you can escape for a well-earned break. Located a short distance from both the North Norfolk Coast (AONB) and Broads National Park, our 2,000 acre estate offers the opportunity to unwind, re-connect with loved ones and the nature around you, and enjoy all that Norfolk has to offer.
At the heart of the estate is the 16th century Worstead Park, once home to the majestic Worstead House set in parkland designed by Humphrey Repton. The park lay untouched for over 100 years allowing native species and their habitats to flourish where bricks and mortar waned. The park is being sensitively restored to Repton's vision, and our holiday cottages strike the perfect balance between modern comfort and traditional charm.
Elsewhere on the estate are our working farms, managed sustainably to provide a home for nature, as well as producing high quality Norfolk produce, including our very own herd of Wagyu beef.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Wildcraft Brewery
In 2022 Wildcraft Brewery moved into Church Farm at Smallburgh, where Mike and his team brew exceptional tasting craft beer using malting barley grown on the estate. Guests are invited to pop in to their tap room and meet the team, and enjoy a tour of the brewery (by appointment). You can order some of their delicious beer for collection or delivery to your door.
Squirrel Wood Equestrian Centre
Lisa and her team at our neighbouring equestrian centre offer riding packages for all ages and abilities. From lessons in the ménage to gentle hacks through Worstead Park, they have something for everyone to enjoy. The Worstead Estate team would be happy to help arrange this for you during your stay.
Rambling
Guests are invited to enjoy the beauty of Worstead Park, our 300 acre historic parkland. With two lakes, woodland and grazed pastures, the park is home to an abundance of wildlife all-year-round. Private pathways have been cut around the west side of the lake for visitors to enjoy. Local walks in the area are plentiful, from the Worstead Heritage Trail exploring the village and its rich history, to the Dilham Canal Circular (7.7km), Weavers Way trail, and Bacton Woods Circular (5km).
