    “The accommodation was very comfortable and warm. Well equipped. A comfortable bed. We liked the layout of the living area. Relaxing views. The location was excellent as interesting areas were easily accessible eg Winchester and Portsmouth.”

Writer's Retreat is furnished with beautiful and antique furniture and features so it feels like home, because it was one. Our kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and has a dishwasher and fridge freezer all discreetly hidden. One end of the living room is all glass with bifold doors opening onto a private terrace looking out over a large garden and historic parkland beyond as part of South Downs National Park. The bedroom is separate from the living room, also with large french doors leading onto the terrace. It has an orginal wrought iron standard double bed but with brand new quality mattress my guests say they have slept beautifully when staying. Finally we offer a bath with a hand help shower hose as we hope you will be taking the time to soak in a lovely bath during you stay and apologise for lack of walk in shower. We own a very friendly whippet who you will also get to meet so sadly we do not allow other dogs.
I love welcoming visitors and having run my Gift Shop in the neighbouring town for 25 years I have lots of experience.
We are in the edge of the South Downs National Park. Close to Winchester and historic Naval City of Portsmouth. In our village we have a fantastic village shop and an excellent pub.
