This Lakeland slate house is 0.5 miles above Buttermere village, and ideal for the famous Haystacks walk. YHA Buttermere has a bar/restaurant with views of the Red Pike and High Stile mountains. Accommodations is in dormitory rooms, or private rooms with a shared bathroom. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds. A laundry facility and a lounge area are all on site. For making your own meals, YHA Buttermere also has a self-catering kitchen. Local ales and wines are served in the bar/restaurant. Walks of all levels start from Buttermere village, which is in a quieter area of the Lake District. Red squirrels and woodpeckers can often be spotted in the grounds. You can park for free, and store bicycles on site. There is also a drying room for wet clothes.
