THE VILLA WAS DESIGNED AS A FAMILY HOME and was built for us by an American master builder and carpenter. -----It is built to an extremely high specification using the very best imported and local materials such as :----Honduran mahogany ( front door, all internal doors and window frames ),---- Caribbean Greenheart hardwood ( floors ),----USA select southern pine ( vaulted ceilings ),---- and Italian floor and wall tiles ( master bathroom ).-----THE DESIGN was carefully thought out to be free-flowing and spacious and to provide ample room for family and friends to gather, both inside and outside of the villa - and to also include quiet personal spaces. ----The villa is SITUATED TOWARDS THE END OF A CUL-DE-SAC and is therefore free of the noise and pollution of passing traffic.---- It sits on 2/3rds of an acre of well maintained landscaped garden planted with flowering trees ( eg African tulip trees, frangipani, red and yellow flamboyant trees, hibiscus and oleander ), and many flowering plants selected to attract butterflies and the 4 species of resident hummingbirds ( eg :- Rufous-breasted hermit and the Antillean crested hummingbird ). -----GUESTS ENJOY UNDISTURBED PEACE AND QUIET---- all you will hear is birdsong during the day and the Cicadas at night ----to the backdrop of gentle ocean waves very much in the background. The villa has a magnificent 30ft long L shaped SWIMMING POOL with a surrounding sundeck featuring sunbeds and parasols and two gazebos. GUESTS LOVED ---- " that the villa was spotlessly clean, ---- has a lovely interior with character and spacious rooms, ---- very comfortable beds, ---- a well equipped kitchen, ---- and great outdoor spaces for family and friends to gather." ---- They also welcomed the free off street parking, ---- the smooth personalised check-in and checkout, ---- all the information provided, ---- and that the owner and staff communicated promptly and clearly.
THE OWNERS John & Paty currently live in the UK but love Grenada and regularly visit the island for holidays and to ensure the villa is being maintained to a high standard. ---- They lived in Grenada in the villa as their family home for 6 years during which time they opened and ran Pelican Boutique and Pebbles Jazz & Blues Club. ---- Please allow for the time difference between the UK and USA/Canada for requests for quotations or information etc.
GRENADA IS A TROPICAL GEM OF AN ISLAND which has successfully avoided the pitfalls of mass tourism, overcrowding and commercialism. ---- The sheer natural beauty of the island’s pristine white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters and wild jungle interior remain intact. ---- It is unspoilt :- coastal hotels and buildings any higher than the tallest palm tree are simply not allowed. ----It is a Christian country relying on agriculture, sailing and fishing and has a good infrastructure which means all areas of the island are accessible by road or track. ----The historic capital St George’s is set next to the horse-shoe shaped harbour ( called the Carenage ) and is considered to be one of the prettiest settings in the Caribbean. ---- BELLE ISLE IS A GREAT LOCATION since the peninsular is reasonably central and offers ready access to all of Grenada’s picture postcard beaches, ---- the capital St George’s ( Saturday morning market is not to be missed, spices and fruits in abundance ),---- and the attractions in the north of the island such as Gouvre fish friday, ---- the tropical rainforest in Grand Etang National Park, ---- Spice and Cocoa Plantations, ---- volcanic crater lakes, ---- the striking Seven Sisters Falls, ---- and the turtle conservation projects ---- Grenada is host to 4 of the world’s 7 varieties of turtles. ---- ( The season for watching turtles laying their eggs begins on 1st April and runs through to the end of June. ---- Tours run nightly in season ). ----BELLE ISLE IS ALSO ATTRACTIVE SINCE IT IS AN EXCLUSIVE AREA with good sized plots of land and strict building covenants to ensure no overbuilding or over crowding ( between properties ). The exact opposite of the over-populated, traffic-jammed south of the island ( eg Lance aux Epines ). Grenada is considered to be one of the safest holiday destinations retaining much of it’s original culture and charm, with visitors receiving a warm, friendly, and laid back welcome and many memorable experiences.
