Ano Strovles is a village in the province of Selino. It is located 55 km southwest of Chania, at an altitude of 450 meters, and currently has approximately 180 residents. The village is built in an exceptionally beautiful landscape with abundant water and greenery, mainly from chestnut trees. The inhabitants of the area are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. Their most significant products include olive oil, wine, grapes, chestnuts, meat, and cheese. In the village, you will find the Church of the Holy Cross, which dates back to 1440 and features magnificent wall paintings. Every year, on July 27th, a grand celebration takes place in Stroblis in honor of Saint Panteleimon. It is an ideal area for walks along the streams with chestnut trees. You will need your car to visit famous beaches near the area such as Elafonisi, Paleochora, Falassarna, and others.
