What would a trip to Greece be without a visit to the world of classical antiquity. Starting from Sergoula, you can take day-trips to some of the most important sites of greek history: Delphi, Olympia, Ancient Corinth, Mycenae and Epidauros. Don't forget Athens with the Acropolis, the lively Plaka (old town), the national museum and the Acropolis museum with unique treasures from antiquity.

The typical greek village and the sea: Paralia Sergoulas is a little village of about 250 inhabitants. It is located in one of the most beauftiful places at the Gulf of Corinth on the greek mainland. It managed to preserve its typical greek atmosphere until today and hectic progress has hardly reached the village. Traditions are cultivated. This can be experienced at many secular and religious festivities throughout the year. Tourism is only weakly developed in this coastal region, most of it takes the interstate outside the village to more remote destinations and does not disturb. Paralia Sergoulas remains a village of Greeks and even during holiday season you will find few foreigners, although the infrastructure improved considerably in past years. Here, people mostly farm (lemons, oranges, olives), grow vegetables, keep goats or make a living from fishing. Traditionally, they meet strangers with friendliness and regard them as guests. Anyone who has visited Paralia Sergoulas can rightfully say: "I was in Greece!“ Here you are in the "belly of Greece“. Sergoulas has several taverns where you can choose from a number of freshly made classical greek dishes.

It is also worthwile to visit the other picturesque villages along the coast. For the most part, they are former fishing villages with little harbours where the typical colourfully painted ships bob up and down. The taverns invite you to enjoy fresh fish and other local specialties. You can also attend an atmospheric Panijiri (a celebration in honor of the patron saint of the respective village church; engl. Fair) with Clarina music and dancing in one of the numerous mountain villages that can easily be reached by car. You absolutely should not miss the opportunity to let yourself be taken from the neighbouring town of Chania to the car-free island of Trisonia with one of the little "boat-taxis“. The atmosphere on the island is always very special and time loses any dimension when you sit down in one of the taverns at the harbour, enjoy your wine and fish and lose track of time. The island also offers a beautiful "natural marina“. Many yachtsmen from all over the world call at this port for their night's rest. High mountains rise up behind Paralia Sergoulas, the old village of Sergoulas is also located here. Only a few old families still live in the village.
