Villa Sand Dune is located I 2000 m garden with a 50 m swimming pool ,ideal for young people but especially families. It provides easy access to the sea –beach .either by car or on foot, which is 4 km long and one off the best on Corfu island with crystal shallow waters ideal for small children .On the beach you have the ability to rent sea sports equipment .A unique experience will be the stols around the lake reaching its peak with the magical sunset .The garden full of dunes Issos beach is located in the NW side of Corfu.The sand dunes that are formed by the NW winds create a very special scenery that has fairly bean called <Sahara of Corfu>.It is a part of the protected areas NATURA 2000 along with the Korission wetland and the unique cedar forest of Corfu. In this area you have the opportunity to go around on horseback through the path of the wetland around the lake. You can also go horse riding on Issos beach and over the impressive sand dunes .Very close to Spiros house is Halikounas beach. It’s a long and narrow piece of land, sandy with waves which is ideal for those who love water sports, sailing or surfing and kite surfing.
This wetland is located on the NW of Corfu and it’s a lagoon that is forest between the beaches of Issos and Halikounas. This lagoon is about 6.000 acres and it is the settler for many kinds of birds (there are about 130 different species of birds).The pink flamingo is the most impressive. All around the sand dunes you will be able to see the Lily of the sea and many others types of wild orchid. There is a rare geological peculiarity of the ground. The sand dunes can reach the height of 17 meters. Between the beaches of Issos and Halikouna there are cedars which form a beautiful cedar forest which is unique in the Mediteranean. The wonderful lagoon is ideal for romantic walks and observation of the birds(over 160 species) which find shelter in the calm waters of the lagoon, along with the sea turtles of the island called Mayremys Caspica. Near the villa there are supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries etc.
