Preko is a charming village on the island of Ugljan, located just outside the city of Zadar. There are small, pretty houses in pastel colors around a beautiful marina at the heart of the city. Around the center are beaches like pearls on a string along a beautiful trail. Preko is great if you want a quiet and idyllic location with excellent swimming facilities, affordable and good restaurants and beautiful scenery. The center of Preko characterized by yet another marina where small fishing boats share space with luxury yachts in high season. The marina bustles with life during the summer when tourists flock to enjoy the idyll. Along the quay is charming pastel-colored houses. Here you will find nice restaurants and coffee- and ice bars. From restaurants along the quay you can feel the smell of the grilled food, and enjoying the view of the life at the marina. Along the waterfront is a wonderful walking trail that stretches several kilometers on both sides of the village and invites you to enjoy pleasant walks or bike-rides. Here lies the charming little bays lined up - some with sand and others have small stones. It is generally very nice to ride by bicykle on the island.
