If you are looking for the most hidden place in Bukit Lawang, amid nature, surrounded by the North Sumatran rainforest and its wildlife inhabitants, our eco-friendly Back To Nature Ecotourism Guesthouse & Restaurant is the perfect place for you! Reaching our eco-lodge involves a 30-minute walk alongside the Bohorok River from the center of Bukit Lawang. Let our friendly staff pick you up from the village/bus terminal and happily guide you along the beautiful trail. Located just next to the Bohorok River and Gunung Leuser National Park, you experience a peaceful and remote stay. Wake up to the gentle sounds of a flowing river and the melodies of birdsong. Step onto your balcony and take in a breathtaking panorama of lush rainforest, witnessing the magic of the jungle, right from the comfort of our lodge... At Back to Nature Guesthouse & Restaurant, we are deeply committed to ecotourism, responsible travel, and preserving the natural beauty of Bukit Lawang. Our guesthouse operates with eco-friendly practices, such as utilizing renewable energy sources, reducing plastic waste and paper, and implementing water and energy conservation measures. We are passionate about protecting the rainforest and supporting local communities. By staying with us, you contribute to conservation efforts and sustainable tourism in North Sumatra.
Aca Alamsyah, the host of Back to Nature, is a passionate wildlife guide and guard. Born in 1966 in Medan, Indonesia, he grew up in a privileged environment and received a good education. However, his love for the outdoors led him to drop out of law school and become a volunteer at the Rehabilitation Centre for Orangutans in Bukit Lawang. He quickly fell in love with the jungle and its inhabitants and has been working as a wildlife guide and guard in the Leuser National Park ever since. Aca has dedicated his life to the conservation of the rainforest. By buying hectares of public jungle along the border of Gunung Leuser National Park, he wants to save and preserve the natural habitat of all rainforest inhabitants in North Sumatra. Your stay helps us expand our mission of protecting this fragile ecosystem. Aca's knowledge of the rainforest is vast, and he is passionate about sharing his love of nature with others. He is a skilled guide who can take you on safe and enjoyable excursions into the jungle. He is also a great cook and loves sharing traditional Indonesian cuisine with his guests.
Bukit Lawang has always held a special place in many hearts, a haven for those seeking the thrill of wildlife encounters or the tranquility of rainforest nights. We, too, have been captivated by its magic. A world apart, Bukit Lawang and its orangutans stand as a testament to nature’s most awe-inspiring creations. Our eco-lodge, nestled in the heart of this tranquil paradise, offers a unique opportunity to experience the magic of Bukit Lawang firsthand. From thrilling jungle treks to relaxing river rafting, Back to Nature offers a wide range of activities that showcase the beauty of Bukit Lawang: - Jungle Trekking in Gunung Leuser National Park to encounter orangutans in their natural habitat. - Rafting adventures on the Bohorok River or swimming at the Landak River. - Cultural tours and cooking classes to immerse yourself in local traditions. - Visits to the Bat Cave or Tangkahan Elephant Sanctuary.
