Our property is a great place to relax and unwind in the country. We try to observe the status of our environment and have installed all solar panels and heating system that does not use oil. There is a very safe play area for children and an observation to our Hens and Ducks. The house is set in the middle of our working farm and views of 3 Mountain ranges, The Galtees, Knockmaeldows and of a clear day Sieve Na Mban. Guests can wander around the farm trails and gardens and see the varied wildlife. You can hear the 6 'O clock dawn chorus if you are awake! (birds awakening). We have on display an assortment of antique machinery that would have been used in farming when horsepower was the only method of farming. Our local town of Cahir is a fishing town and permits can be obtained for trout and salmon when in season. Our primary purpose at Annaswood is to provide our guests with Irish Hospitality, Comfort and Care on their travels in gathering fond memories of their vacation.
My interests and hobbies are family, music (guitar), animals, cycling, trekking in the woods, and interesting intriguing courses. Rumi — 'Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.
Our neighbourhood is a quiet country location where everybody knows each other. It is a farming sector where people spend a lot of time outdoors. There is a local community in the nearest village of Ballylooby where various social occasions occur from a gathering of card players (25) to the local thatched pub to relax with a pint. The town of Cahir is larger and has its own Castle where occasionally theatre is performed. Cahir boasts a cattle market, selling and buying of Bovine Stock (not the nasdaq stock market !). Fishing is enjoyed by local and out of town fishermen, (trout and Salmon) with the river running through the town. Golf is huge as well with a well matured golf Club and grounds going back to the 1960s. Nowadays with everybody more health conscious, together with the Gym centrally located, there are plenty of designated walk ways from river walks, mountain walks and wood walks. These are all well maintained by our Co. Council and the Office of Public Works.
