The house was originally built in 1822 by the 6th Duke of Devonshire but we have refurbished the property in 2016 keeping all the original features but adding a great kitchen and great bathrooms. The house has a stunning raised terrace complete with awning. There is also a lovely enclosed safe garden for children. With its central location it is just a small walk for great restaurants, coffee shops and bars. So park up the car at free parking 3 minutes away and leave it for total relaxation.
I live 15 minutes from Dungarvan in the Co Waterford Gaeltacht. I have three children 25, 19 and 16. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years at a senior level but decided to take a more relaxed approach to life. I manage two properties one in the country and one in the town. I pride myself in providing high quality accommodation for our guests. I really understand that holiday time is precious and I make sure the house is in perfect condition. I am available at any stage during your holiday if required.
Dungarvan is a very historic town. It is built around a large square and has lovely galleries and a great museum. The award winning Tannery restaurant owned by chef Paul Flynn is on your doorstep. We have many other restaurants, coffee shops and a large shopping centre. The Deise greenway starts in Dungarvan and povides 50 kms of cycle / walk way all the way to Waterford along the old railway track. There are 9 golf courses in Co Waterford with 3 in Dungarvan alone. There are 2 playgrounds in town and of course we are only 3 kms from Clonea beach and a number of smaller quieter beaches. The Co Waterford Gaeltacht is 10 kms outside town and provides wonderful views, culture, ceol and craic. The Knockmealdown and Comeragh mountains are just outside Dungarvan and provide great walks and hikes. Fishing is a popular past time locally and if you don't want to go to the trouble, there is fresh fish to be bought locally daily or every Thursday at the Dungarvan Farmers market. Ardmore is 15 kms away and is a beautiful village with the historic round tower and St Declan's well and Cliff walk. Lismore is 25 minutes by car with the stunning castle and gardens.
