Emma & David
Just a five-minute drive from Letterkenny, The Blue Door, is your perfect base to explore Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way. Located 5.7km from the Polestar Roundabout in the heart of Letterkenny, our place offers a cosy retreat after a day of exploring the hills of Donegal.
We're Emma & David, holiday enthusiasts from Donegal. Growing up in Letterkenny, tourism wasn’t just something we learned about; it was part of our life from the very beginning. You see, our parents both ran a Bed & Breakfast, so we were surrounded by visitors from a very early age. They taught us to love Donegal and share it with others. Now, we get to do that every day, in a place we're proud to call home.
This area is perfect for those who love a mix of peace and adventure. Located just a five-minute drive from Letterkenny and 30 minutes from Derry. Local Attractions: Oakfield Park (10KM and 12 minute drive) in Raphoe, Co. Donegal, is a privately owned estate and railway, which has won several National awards for the restoration of its gardens and buildings. Sitting in a lush landscape of parklands, lakes, mature woodlands, overlooking the distant Croaghan Mountain, the grounds include a hedge maze, sculptures, and miles of walking paths. A must visit attraction when seeking things to do in Donegal. Outdoor Adventures: Glenveagh National Park: Just a short drive away, this park offers beautiful hiking trails, a picturesque castle, and lush gardens. Dining and Nightlife: Local Restaurants: Enjoy a variety of dining options in Letterkenny, from traditional Irish fare to international cuisine. Don’t miss out on the fresh Atlantic seafood. Vibrant Pubs: Experience the lively pub scene with traditional Irish music and locally brewed craft beers. Lurgy offers a quiet retreat while keeping you close to the vibrant life of Letterkenny. Whether you’re exploring historical sites, enjoying nature, or indulging in local flavours, there’s something here for everyone.
