Beth Meon "Beth Me'on" is a Hebrew phrase that translates to "house of dwelling". The Hebrew word "Beth" means "house. Our house is a stand out residence built lovingly by our parents, Late Dilip Rai and Late Abigail Rai. It stands today as a testimony of their love and life. Our house is built on a sprawling area and offers you modern amenities without compromising on the idyllic serenity of nature, and picturesque landscape.
Mr Jason Rai and family are professionals working in the health sector. They wish to promote Mungpoo as an idyllic destination for a quick getaway, especially for those who have space in their itinerary that stretches beyond Darjeeling, Kalimpong or Sikkim.
Mungpoo became prominent during the British Raj owing to the cinchona plantation and played a pivotal role in curbing malaria in India. Notably today it is celebrated more for its association with the Nobel Laureate Tagore whose residence is just a tumble away from the Beth Me'on Homestay. Besides Rabindra Sadan, the still functioning Cinchona Factory, Orchid House, Jogighat to a name a few are also hotspots that one might want to see and visit. Mungpoo is an offbeat destination that is an hour and half ride away from Darjeeling and Siliguri. It is surrounded by lovely hills, serene trees and of course genuine hardworking people who take utmost joy in welcoming visitors to this beautiful town. It is quite different because it is not very commercial and offers tranquility that you will treasure forever.
