I'm Barbara and I was born in New york by italian immigrants. At the age of 16 my parents decided to come back to Italy and open a restaurant. After 25 years they retired and now I run my apartments , I like to take care of my guests and let them taste some italin specialties maybe when they're refreshing at the pool.I give cooking lessons and usually my guests become good friends

My place is convenient for families as they have an apartment available complete of every comfort so to spend their holiday in complete relax. From 2 TO 6-8 bed places and with all apartments up to 15 persons..In summer pool only for our guests, walks to the river and total relaxation and the chance to visit important cities; Lucca; pistoia, Florence and Pisa.

B&B Scacco Matto is located in the north of Tuscany just outside Popiglio, a small medieval village along the SS12. B&B Scacco Matto is located in the middle of the Apennines with a lot of natural beauty, where many sights and activities can be enjoyed. Such as skiing or sledding in winter or (soft) rafting in summer, to the beach, cycling or horse riding through the mountains. But also cultural activities such as village festivals, performances, operas and visiting the open-air museum Florence or Lucca. From the B&B Scacco Matto you can take a walk to the river Lima for some cooling on hot days.
