I passionately restored my 'Casa dai Tre Archi', a typical 16th century rural building, respecting the original spaces and using traditional materials and techniques. Following the principles of eco-sustainable architecture, I wanted to create a cosy and harmonious place, in harmony with the gentle Miocene hills of Marmilla. Bissantica is the perfect retreat for those who wish to discover an authentic territory, rich in breathtaking landscapes, history, culture and traditions, far from mass tourism. Located in the historic village of Lunamatrona, where time seems to stand still, the house offers quiet, reserved and comfortable surroundings, ideal for relaxing after a day of exploration. Each room in the house is unique and reflects an exclusive style: from the ancient stone walls to the kitchen with its fireplace, to the intimate and cosy spaces designed for relaxation. Here you will find little corners of paradise where you can rediscover the pleasure of slowness and the charm of the countryside. Bissantica is the ideal starting point for exploring central Sardinia, with its archaeological sites, wine and food traditions and unspoilt nature. An enchanted place where you can be inspired, perhaps with a good book in your hands, and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
I am an engineer specialising in the restoration of historic centres and I personally oversaw the restoration of my house, once an abandoned ruin. Many thought I was crazy, but I saw its potential and today it is a welcoming and charming home. This place continues to give me serenity with its silences and the warm embrace of its walls of stone, mud and wood. Are you ready to experience the magic of this unique home?
The Marmilla, a sub-region in the very heart of Sardinia, is a land rich in history, nature and authentic traditions. Here, the scents of Mediterranean scrub mingle with the beauty of the Giara di Gesturi and Tuili—home to wild ponies—and with the Paulis ponds, which burst into colour with buttercups each spring. The area is renowned for its natural marvels, including the obsidian flows of Monte Arci and the “sacred forest” of Santa Maria Angiargia. Archaeology lovers will find a wealth of sites to explore, such as the Sa Domu ‘e is Caombus temple in Morgongiori, the Nuragic royal complex of Barumini, the megalithic tomb of Sa Dom’e s’Orcu in Siddi, and the many menhirs scattered through the Villa Sant’Antonio valley and neighbouring villages. Don’t miss the museum in Villanovaforru, showcasing artefacts from the Genna Maria site. The Marmilla also offers artistic treasures, including exquisite altarpieces in Tuili, Gonnostramatza, Villamar and Lunamatrona. The Valley of the Menhirs—with the striking Cuccuru Tundu monolith—remains one of the region’s most captivating corners. Thanks to its central position, the Marmilla is the perfect base for wider exploration: in just 45–50 minutes you can reach the unspoilt beaches of the Oristano and Arbus coasts, the cities of Cagliari and Oristano, and the evocative industrial-archaeology sites of Ingurtosu and Montevecchio. With its unique blend of history, culture, nature and tradition, the Marmilla offers an authentic experience far removed from the island’s busiest tourist routes.
