Upon request and with advance notice, the entire space can also be booked for photoshoots, wedding preparations, meetings, banquets, and special events such as family/corporate gatherings. The building is accessed via the city’s very first original oval elevator—an Art Deco gem in wood and wrought iron that adds a touch of timeless charm to your arrival. We also offer a variety of tailored services to enhance your stay—guests are welcome to inquire after booking to make their visit even more unforgettable. Please note: depending on the season, the terrace and common areas may occasionally be closed for maintenance or reserved for private events. In such cases, if breakfast was included/booked with your stay, we’ll be happy to offer it at our favorite neighborhood café just downstairs—a local gem cherished by your hosts. While the house is equipped with many comforts, it proudly preserves the elegance and soul of another era. This means that, on rare occasions, certain modern services may be limited. When this happens, we always act swiftly and with the utmost care to resolve any issue as quickly as possible, ensuring your experience remains seamless and memorable. Our standard check-in hours are between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. If you plan to arrive outside this timeframe, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance so we can try to accommodate your needs—flexibility is something we strive to offer whenever possible. Whether you’re requesting an early check-in, a late check-out, luggage storage, or a delayed arrival beyond our regular hours, we usually apply a variable fee. This helps cover the cost of staff who remain available, either in person or remotely.

Cà Fosca offers boutique hotel comfort with the warmth of a family-run home. I became the host of Cà Fosca because this home is part of my story. My mother bought it in 1998, when I was still a child. One day, two American tourists stopped her in the street to ask for directions—she invited them in for a coffee. Bed & breakfasts didn’t yet exist in Bologna, but just over a year later, we became one of the first five to open in the city. That’s how I learned the art of hosting: long before OTA platforms. At 16, I was already traveling through home swaps with trusted friends. Later, I moved to Miami, where I spent 10 years working as a property manager for Italian investors—overseeing everything from interior redesigns to renovations, even producing early 3D mappings and shooting interior photography. Back in Italy, I worked in event planning and institutional business relations before taking a break to build our family home and raise two children. After my mother’s untimely passing, I returned to Cà Fosca. With love and attention to detail, I’ve brought it back to life—honoring its roots while infusing everything I’ve learned from years of travel and hospitality around the world.
