Big sunny house in the Sirente Velino Regional park, located in the mediaeval village “Castello”, with a delightful view on Sirente mountain, and perfect proximity to national parks, mountains, lakes and excellent restaurants.
My name is Maria Stella. I'm an engineer with a passion for the mountains. I love travelling, and meeting people.
Castello is a very small mediaeval village in the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, where you can enjoy peace and full relax. Around the village are the stunning mountains of the Apennines (Sirente and Gran Sasso) and the hills are perfect for walking. Fifteen minutes drive away are Stiffe Caves with underground waterfalls, stalactites and stalagmites and lake Sinizzo for sunbathing and swimming. Sinizzo lake is fed by two fresh springs (drinking water) making the lake wonderfully clean. Thirty minutes drive away is the beautiful village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio and the Rocca Calascio Castel, other than the exciting mountains of Gran Sasso d’Italia and Campo Imperatore for trekking in the summer and skiing during winter. Very close are also the archeological site of Peltuinum and the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Assunta in Bominaco.
