The house is a typical mountain dwelling, restored from an old stable, and is spread over three floors. On the third floor, you'll find a romantic double bedroom with a private terrace and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The second floor features a small sitting room, perfect for relaxing after hikes, and a complete bathroom with a compact bathtub/shower, washing machine, iron, hairdryer, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. On the ground floor, there is another cozy sitting area, a guest toilet, and a new, fully equipped modern kitchen — ideal for preparing meals after a day in nature. Casa La Lanterna in Valtellina is a unique and authentic home: do not expect a conventional layout! The irregular spaces, internal stairs, and particular bathroom (shower to be used sitting down) tell the story of a renovation that respects its original character. My name is Francesco and I am deeply connected to this land: my mother is from Valtellina, my father is from Lake Como, and I grew up right here, among the mountains of Valtellina, where I attended school and built many memories. The house hosting you is located in Albaredo per San Marco, a small authentic village rich in traditions. It is a special place for me: my grandparents were born in Albaredo, right in the hamlet of Case di Sopra, where my grandfather was also born. I know Valtellina and its surroundings very well: scenic trails, mountain huts, historic villages, and genuine local flavors are part of my everyday life, and I will be happy to share tips, experiences, and less touristy routes to help you fully enjoy this extraordinary land.
