Casetta Scricciolo is a charming rustic-modern apartment, ideal for couples, families, and small groups seeking an authentic mountain experience. The larch-wood furnishings and natural-tone fabrics create a warm, cozy atmosphere, while the mattresses, slatted bed bases, and topper ensure a truly restorative sleep. The French door opens onto a small balcony from which, in the morning and in good weather, you can admire the Valsugana mountains and the Dolomites in the distance. The kitchen is fully equipped with new cookware, a microwave oven, a kettle, and an induction hob—perfect for preparing dishes with local products (alpine cheeses, regional cured meats, seasonal vegetables). Available for guests: ultra-fast Wi-Fi, a washing machine, covered storage for bikes or skis, and an included parking space. Every detail is designed to offer comfort and convenience, leaving you free to fully experience the magic of the Asiago Plateau.
My name is Michela and I live in Padua, but since childhood I’ve spent my holidays at my family’s house in Roana on the Asiago Plateau. Maintaining that bond with the mountains made me fall in love with their forests, flavors, and traditions—and now I’m delighted to share them with you. I’m always available by message or phone to recommend routes suited to your level, the best mountain huts for tasting local products, and any other curiosities about the area.
Casetta Scricciolo is just a 5-minute walk from the heart of Enego, an alpine village rich in history and traditions. Within 300 m, you’ll find artisan bakeries, butcher shops offering homemade cured meats, and a bar where you can enjoy an alpine cappuccino. The Scaliger Tower, built around 1330 by the Della Scala family of Verona, is the only remaining part of the medieval castle; from 1405 to 1797 Enego was part of the Republic of Venice. Just beyond, the Church of Santa Giustina houses fine paintings and altars, evidence of modifications carried out over the centuries. The Monte Ortigara Museum immerses you in the dramatic events of the First World War. Trekking enthusiasts can set off directly from the apartment to the Piana di Marcesina (1 300 m a.s.l.), with dozens of kilometres of loops winding through larch forests. In winter, the plateau becomes known as the “Finland of Italy” thanks to over 500 km of cross-country skiing trails; for alpine skiing, the Fondo Grande slopes are only 10 km away. For a gourmet break, we recommend Trattoria alle Sette Teste (serving dishes based on woodland mushrooms and mountain cheeses) and Rifugio Cesuna, perfect for a high-altitude lunch. Finally, don’t miss the artisan markets on summer evenings and the village festivals at Ferragosto—an authentic immersion in mountain culture. From the balcony, you can admire the Valsugana mountains and, in good morning weather, the Dolomites in the distance.
