Ancient stone house located in the medieval village where Policarpo Petrocchi was born. A place to rediscover yourself through the slow passage of time, relaxation and contact with Nature. A quiet, cool refuge to hide from the world while remaining a stone's throw from the woods (the first of the paths begins just a few steps from the front door). Florence and Lucca can be reached in about half an hour by car or train, the coast between Viareggio and Livorno in less than an hour and the peaks of Abetone in forty minutes.
She is originally from Hamburg (Germany), he is Florentine, they chose to live in the mountains surrounded by olive trees, chickens, dogs, cats, peacocks and ducks. They fell in love with these places right away. The desire to live a quiet, secluded life with a slow pace represents their idea of happiness. And this led them to want to share their experience.
A few kilometers from Pistoia, surrounded by the greenery of the Pistoia mountains, is Castello di Cireglio. The village, which in winter has around eighty inhabitants, during the summer can come alive thanks to events and initiatives that attract a large number of visitors, without however losing its authenticity of an ancient village. Castello di Cireglio is known for being the birthplace of Policarpo Petrocchi, writer and lexicographer, author of an important Vocabulary of the Italian language, one of the first to be published. And this is why Castello has joined the international network of "Literary Parks" since 2021. Also starting from Castello is a beautiful network of paths suitable for all trekking, mountain biking and horseback riding enthusiasts.
