Unique experience. You have the chance to experience how it is to actually stay in an authentic museum, or a room in a palace.

I never expected to be staying in such an unusual ( in a good way ) place. Half museum half trad Italian with a touch of modernity. Absolutely lovely ! A real treat for the price and perfectly placed for some museum/old town/ church exploring.

What a lovely old building. It is like a palace and museum located in the old centre. However, supermarkets are close by. Another place with a kitchen that has the sense to have a Moka.

The entire house is like a museum so for me it was a really nice experience staying here. To be honest, I visited museums less interesting then what this location has to offer. 😅

Palazzo Antica Via Appia is a noble dwelling once belonged to the Santoro family. The Appian Way, from which the Bed and Breakfast is named after, is the ancient Roman way that crossed Bitonto from west to east. The house was built along this old road in 1843, and it was erected on medieval walls. Inside the building a considerable number of books, manuscripts, photos, documents and relics from both the 19th and the 20th can be found. The antiques have been distributed all over the place and the photos hanged on the walls, creating a permanent exhibition and making the house a museum as well as a luxurious B&B. On the ground floor a collection of magazines, old books, art objects, musical instruments, arrangements and vinyl records is displayed. Of significant relevance are the textbooks on the Battle of Bitonto, which was fought in 1734 and set the basis for the political affirmation of the Bourbon Monarchy. In the basement the ancient Appian Way can still be seen. The underground rooms also host a suggestive exhibition of outfits from the 19th and the 20th century, plus a few military uniforms from both the 1st and the 2nd World War.
We are close to the 12th century Cathedral, in the heart of the ancient town. Our position makes it easy to reach all the most important cultural attractions.
