Podere Aurora is a property of the Azienda Agricola PETRA, world-renowned for its wines. Near the ancient village of Suvereto, land of the suvere, majestic oaktrees that produce cork, on the iron hills of the Val di Cornia and with a view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is here, in the spectacular nature of the Maremma, that the magic of Petra is born. Petra is a natural oasis immersed in the unique and diverse territory of the Val di Cornia. Swiss architect Mario Botta, commissioned by Vittorio Moretti, has created e a meeting space in form and function, a place of soft, respectful, low-impact architecture.

The former manor house Podere Aurora is surrounded by Sangiovese vineyards at an altitude of almost 323 m/1.060 ft. The guest enjoys a 360° distant view of breathtaking beauty. Despite its truly idyllic location, the sandy beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea can be reached quickly (Carbonifera and Mortelliccio 25 km/15.5 miles). Cities of cultural and historical importance await the guests, such as the medieval Massa Marittima with its Romanesque cathedral of San Cerbone from the 12th century (10 km/6.2 miles), Suvereto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy with colorful village shops and traditional trattorias and the Bay of Baratti ( 35 km/21.75 miles) with its Archaeological Parks, world-famous testimonies of the three thousand year old Etruscan culture. At the nearby PETRA wine estate (12 km/7.5 miles), to which the manor house belongs, guests can get information about excursion destinations or sporting activities, enjoy a wine tasting or even book a tour.
