Guest House, Tsubaki Ann Kyoto, is a newly renovated machiya (traditional style house) built more than 90 years ago. You will experience the traditional life style in Kyoto, but also enjoy the modern facilities such as clean bathrooms and kitchen. At the guest house, there are two shower rooms, one with a bathtub and another one with a shower only. Two toilets are in the separate rooms, so it is convenient for a large group. Also, there is a powder room with three sinks and three hair dryers!, so girls can get ready easily in the busy morning! We have four bedrooms (one room with a double-sized bed and three other rooms with single futons) with lock and air conditioner in each room, so you can also have a private space if you prefer. AMENITIES: - A face towel & a bath towel for each guest - Shampoo & conditioner, body soap - Free green tea & coffee In the kitchen, there is a safe electric cooking stove and utensils for you to cook a light meal. Please wash and put the cookwares and utensils back after use. The house is unlike any other. Akira is the owner of the Tusbaki Ann Kyoto, and he was born in Kyoto. He is also the pioneer of futsal league in Japan, and he still runs the futsal tournaments every year. Other staffs have also lived in overseas, so you will receive a warm welcome and full support from friendly staffs who knows about language barrier and living overseas.
The closest train station is JR Enmachi station. It is 9 minutes on foot from the house. From Kyoto station, there is a direct line to Enmachi station, and it's only 8 minutes away (2-3 stops). The house is located on the street with stores and restaurants, so it is relatively easy to find. It is conveniently located in the city of Kyoto and has a great access to Kinkakuji and Arashiyama. The guest house is located within walking distance of Myoshinji (妙心寺, Myōshinji), a famous zen Buddhism temple. Myoshinji is a large temple complex which includes about 50 subtemples in addition to its main buildings. While a few of the temple halls can be entered, the majority of the subtemples are closed to the public. However, visitors are free to wander along the walking paths in a beautiful scenery. It is nice and quiet, and it's one of the best spots to take a morning walk! You can also walk to Kinkakuji temple (30minutes walk) and Kitano Tenmangu shrine (20 minutes walk). At Kitano Temangu, the "Tenjin-san" flea market is held on the 25th of every month. The majority of stalls sell clothing such as second-hand clothes, kimonos, etc. and antiques such as pottery and the like.
