The completely nonsmoking Hanakiya is a 5-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and a 10-minute drive from JR Kyoto Train Station. It offers simple accommodations with a free-use internet station and microwave. Rooms have free Wi-Fi. The air-conditioned Japanese rooms at Hanakiya Kyoto have traditional futon bedding and tatami (woven-straw) floors. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. Kiyomizu Gojo Station is a 14-minute walk away, and Yasaka Shrine and Kyoto National Museum are both a 5-minute taxi ride. The fine print
The property has a main building and an annex building. The two buildings are located a few minutes walking distance of each other. Rooms will be assigned upon check in based on availability.
- Check-in hours are 16:00-21:00. Please note a late check-in fee 1000 JPY per 1 hour will be charged for guests arriving after 21:00.
- Luggage storage is available from 14:00.
- By taxi: please show the hotel's telephone number and the following instructions to the taxi driver:
The taxi driver will take you to the entrance of a big car park near Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Go down the steps opposite the car park entrance, and look for hotel's sign in the quiet back street.
-By bus: From Kyoto station take bus 100 or 206 to Gojozaka. Busses have announcements in English.
At the Gojozaka bus stop, go back in the direction from which the bus came. Cross the street at the first traffic light and walk up the hill for about 820 feet, until you reach a 3-way fork in the road. Take the middle one. Walk another 820 feet, to where you see a large car park on the left. Go down the steps opposite the car park entrance, and look for hotel's sign in the quiet back street.
