Hello, travelers from around the world! My main business is real estate, but my interest in traditional houses led me to build this villa. I run this "Hashiba-an" and also a new villa "Zaimoku-an". Kanazawa has its own charm with traditional buildings and historical architecture. You can participate in Sado or the tea ceremony or simply enjoy Zen atmosphere. You can also enjoy Noh performing art. Most of the attractions are located within a walking distance. During my experience in learning about the tea ceremony, I started thinking about creating a simple and cozy accommodation. I wanted to put the charms of Kanazawa into one place, so I created this villa. Unfortunately, my tea ceremony teacher passed away years ago, but the time I spent with the teacher was truly delightful as we usually practiced after a hard day of work. It was such an enlightening experience as it was just two of us appreciating the beauty of the Kenroku garden in the tea house known as a Chashitsu. Kanazawa is known as Chanoyunomachi or a tea town. So I would highly recommend you experience the tea ceremony if you come to Kanazawa. You will be fascinated by the city and see it from a different perspective.

Property information

This building was once used as a traditional kimono textile dye house. There used to be many dye houses adjacent to the Asano River which flows through the district of Hashiba-cho or Hashiba town. (The river was used for Yuzen-nagashi or washing kimono silks to remove the paste resist and excess dye.) We decided to purchase it and remodeled into the villa "Hashiba-an,". When we first purchased the building, it had been vacant for around 10 years. There were many holes in the roof, and rain water leaked through them. So, we asked a successful young architect in Kanazawa to renovate the house, and he did a great job. Nowadays, Hashiba-an became highly rated among other accommodations in Kanazawa, thanks to the efforts made by many people. We would like to pursue greater customer satisfaction and to provide comfortable space and better services.
