Great views. Nicely designed. Good location. Fabulous to be able to get coffee from the machine in the lobby. It was very good. Didn’t eat there as it was kinda expensive so can’t comment on their food.

Excellent stopover in Heda town if you are driving from Mishima or Shizuoka area onwards to explore the Izu Peninsula, and particularly, if you are in Heda town for the Spider crab. The rooms have a view of the sea (but not Mt Fuji), up on a hill...

Neighbourhood information

The Toda area of Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a fishing town surrounded by Suruga Bay and Mount Daruma, and is rich in nature. Deep-sea fish and spider crabs are local specialties, and you can enjoy fresh seafood. Geographically, it is characterized by Cape Mihama, which juts out into Suruga Bay, forming a beautiful coastline and calm Toda Bay. From the cape, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji, and you can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and more. Historically, it is known as the place where Russian Admiral Putyatin and his party stayed during the Ansei era, and where Japan's first full-scale Western-style sailing ship, the Heda, was built. Historical sites such as Daigyoji Temple and the Matsushiro Family Residence remain, and you can see materials from that time at the Toda Shipbuilding Local History Museum. Toda Port is a base for deep-sea fishing, and rare deep-sea fish such as mejikari, megisu, and spider crab are landed here. You can enjoy these fresh seafood at local restaurants and inns. Spider crab in particular is a delicacy that represents Toda. The hot springs are also one of the attractions, and the sodium-calcium sulfate springs of Toda Onsen are gentle on the skin and are expected to have skin-beautifying effects. We also recommend relaxing at a hot spring inn with an ocean view. If you want to enjoy nature to the fullest, we recommend hiking up Mount Daruma. From the summit, you can see magnificent views of Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji. There are also many scenic spots scattered around, such as Cape Deai and Kirameki no Oka. Toda is a fascinating area that combines rich nature, history, and delicious seafood. You're sure to feel refreshed both body and mind in the quiet and calm atmosphere.
