Neighbourhood information

Yashio Hydrangea Village and Eight Lucky Gods Pilgrimage One minute walk from Shinsuikan (Power spot walking course, about 60 minutes) The "Yashio Hydrangea Village," boasting about 5,500 hydrangea plants, is a hidden gem where you can enjoy a pilgrimage of the Eight Lucky Gods, adding the "Lucky Demon God" to the traditional Seven Lucky Gods. In early summer, you'll be enveloped in an otherworldly atmosphere as if walking through a hydrangea path. The charm lies in appreciating the colorful floral scenery while paying respects to each deity statue. Kanasana Shrine 8 minutes by car from Shinsuikan Visit this historic sacred site of Musashi Province. Kanasana Shrine, boasting one of the richest histories in the prefecture, is attractive for its quiet, green-surrounded setting. Uniquely, it has no main hall, instead directly enshrining Mt. Mimuro as the object of worship. As a place associated with the hero Yamato Takeru, who is said to have stored his fire-making tools here, this sacred area seems to breathe life into the world of Japanese mythology. You can encounter nationally designated cultural properties, including an elegant vermilion two-storied pagoda and the mysterious Mirror Rock. Sanbaseki Gorge About 17 minutes by car from Shinsuikan Designated as a national scenic spot and natural monument, Sanbaseki Gorge was formed by the water power of the Kanna River, which flows along the border of Gunma and Saitama Prefectures. Just downstream from Shimokubo Dam, giant and famous rocks lie naturally for about 1.5 km along the stream, creating a representative landscape of Fujioka City (former Oniishi Town). The 48 uniquely shaped rocks have been given individual names. Tenjinyama Garden About 10 minutes walk from Shinsuikan This is the garden of the Hara residence in Watase, Kamikawa Town, Saitama Prefecture. It has connections to the "Sankeien Garden" in Yokohama City. Although it's a private garden, it's open to the public for free for one month in April.
