Kiri no Kōbō is an old private house inn located in Kameoka, Kyoto, surrounded by mountains and deep fog. Around the facility, there are many places to enjoy nature and sightseeing. A 15-minute walk or 3-minute drive will take you down the Hozu River, and a 10-minute drive will take you canoeing or rafting on the Hozu River. In addition, the Nanatani River Outdoor Activity Center, an 11-minute drive away, offers outdoor experiences that make the most of nature. For mountain climbing and trekking, there are forest paths leading to the entrance of Akechikoshi in 3 minutes on foot, the Ushimatsuyama climbing entrance in 13 minutes on foot, and the Atagoyama climbing entrance in 6 minutes on foot. There are a variety of mountain hiking routes that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced hikers alike. A 25-minute walk or 4-minute drive will take you to the ruins of Kameyama Castle, a place where you can feel the history of the area. There are also Atago Shrine (formerly Atago) and the Way of Peace, both an 8-minute drive, Izumo Daijingu Shrine, a 9-minute drive, Anataji Temple, a 13-minute drive, and Kameoka Fog Terrace, a 20-minute drive, where visitors can experience beautiful scenery and culture. The facility has two free parking lots, and free bicycle rentals are available for exploring the area. Access to Kameoka Station on the JR Sanin Line is a 28-minute walk or 7-minute bicycle ride, and to Torokko Kameoka Station on the Sagano Kanko Railway is a 29-minute walk or 8-minute bicycle ride. However, the route to Torokko Kameoka Station has no street lights, so be careful when traveling at night. The expressway is approximately 17 minutes to the Shino Interchange (Kyoto direction) and approximately 14 minutes to the Oi Interchange (Ayabe and Maizuru directions).
