Neighbourhood information

MAISON MITWABA is strategically located near the Giraffe Centre, the Karen Blixen Museum (from 'Out of Africa'), the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, and the Purdy Arms (a sports bar, as well as a great place for kids!). Being located in the Karen suburb, there are several excellent restaurants of high standing; to name a few: the Talisman Restaurant, the Que Pasa bistro, bar & restaurant, Haru Japanese Restaurant, Rudy's Restaurant (international cuisine), Jay's Bar, Purdy Arms Restaurant, Asmara Eritrean Restaurant, and many more. For relaxation through sports, we are close to the Karen Golf & Country Club, and there are various gyms nearby, several of whom also have Yoga classes, Step classes and other activities. A large swimming pool can be found at the KCB Training complex a little further away (10 minutes by car). And, for those who are into shopping, there is plenty of choice: The Hub Shopping Mall (reported to be the biggest in Kenya and in East Africa!), Galleria Shopping Mall, Karen Plains Arcade, Karen Connection, and the Karen Crossroads Shopping Centre are all within close proximity; with the Junction Mall also still within easy reach.
