Nestled deep in the virgin mountains of Central Sri Lanka, Eastland Bungalow (originally built in 1924 and fully restored in 2010) is the perfect getaway that will make you fall in love with nature all over again. The bungalow has been restored to its' former glory and the calm, quiet surroundings will leave you relaxed throughout your stay. Whether it’s one day or one week, come join us and enjoy our passion for natural beauty as you rediscover your love for nature.
Born and brought up in Kandy, a nature lover inside out, and someone who firmly believes in leaving the planet in a better place for the future generations to enjoy. The bungalow has been a work in progress for over 15 years and believe we are now ready to share our passion with like-minded nature enthusiasts.
Hewaheta is a small hamlet situated in the central hills of Sri Lanka and home to the first commercial tea plantations in the Island. Despite small changes in roads and a minor expansion to the town centre, Hewaheta has managed to retain its' old world charm as it remains the lifeline to the many tea estates in the area. The distance from Hewaheta to the bungalow is approximately 3.1kms, and will require a 4x4 or a vehicle with decent ground clearance. You may hire a tuk-tuk to bring you up, and a one way ride will cost you approximately LKR 1500/- per trip.
