Evening programme for “A Walk in the Village” Enjoying a day and learning the lifestyles of the rural families of Sri Lanka, is not complete without some evening entertainment. In keeping with the concept of the day, Oruthota Chalets have included A Cultural Evening performed the school children of the local school. This event not only gives an opportunity to our rural children to bring out their talents and exhibit it to our international visitors, but on a greater magnitude helps Oruthota Chalets work towards their goal of Sustainable Tourism. The Cultural Evening will include an hour of Song & Dance performed by the school children of the local school. An opportunity of this level is very rare, and the teachers in charge are so enthusiastic to accept this request and perform the evening of Song & Dance with pride. The aim of Oruthota Chalets is now to promote Tourism with a Difference. We prefer to concentrate on activities which will helps us reach goal of Sustainable Tourism. Therefore, we will now be gradually introducing a variety of activities with a difference which will definitely inspire and leave the foreign visitor with new found memories of Sri Lanka,

Oruthota Chalets is a picturesque resort located in the outskirts of the city of Kandy. Nestled amidst tranquil settings of the Knuckles Mountain range, surrounded by nature, this beautiful resort offers the perfect setting for leisure and relaxation. Suitable for both business and leisure travellers, Oruthota Chalets is the ideal destination to take a break from the hustle and bustle of busy city life and enjoy some moments of peace and quiet. Oruthota Chalets is spread out on 6 acres of land offering guests the freedom to walk around its beautifully landscaped gardens. The waterfront setting of the Huluganga adds to the ambiance of the property, especially during the south west monsoons with the rising water levels of the Victoria Reservoir. This beautiful resort is located 18 kilometres away from the city of Kandy on the Digana-Mahaiyangana road. Access is through the local village, passing home of the residents and multi-religious places of worship.
