Palmyrah House is a luxury boutique hotel on the island of Mannar, consisting of fourteen rooms, each elegantly furnished for maximum comfort. The 08 Deluxe Rooms consist of 04 Triple Rooms and 04 Twin Rooms whilst the 04 Superior rooms are all wheel chair accessible. The two Suites are Palmyrah House’ premium offering, featuring luxuriously outfitted rooms and toilets each with a large private deck that can be merged for use by a large party of guests. Palmyrah House provides everything guests need; be it a swimming pool, a library cum reading room, a well equipped gym, a games room with a pool table and bar facilities or conference facilities for 50 pax. The expansive garden holds a natural well providing reviving open air bathing, whilst adventurous guests can avail themselves to bicycles to explore the quiet and traffic-free backroads of the island. (In the event guest/child has been incorrectly billed at the point of making a reservation, it will be identified and amended at the hotel in order to reflect the applicable rates)
Mannar! The name invokes vistas of endless sun-kissed sandy beaches, vast lagoons teeming with flamingos and other birds, local folk plying their trade fishing the warm waters of the Mannar Basin, tall ancient forests of lofty Palmyrah Palms reaching out to caress the sky and devout Catholics from around the country flocking to pay homage to one of the holiest Catholic Shrines, Our Lady Of Madhu. Tantalising local food, Palmyrah Toddy, friendly and laid back locals make this unique island a part of Sri Lanka that has to be seen to believed. Recently “discovered” as one of the world’s best Kite Surfing Destinations, Mannar is now heralded as the last of Sri Lanka’s unspoilt and stunningly beautiful destinations located on the north-western edge of the island of Sri Lanka.
