One of the best places I have ever stayed. Our host was incredibly helpful with arranging pickup from airport, even helping with a punctured wheelchair tyre. The property is very safe and peaceful, the rooms are really comfortable and clean,...

The location on the way into the small weaving village of Teotitlan was very good. Even better is that a family of weavers own and operate the B&B. The father who is known for not only his weaving skills (exemplified by the birds in his rugs) but...

Gorgeous locale on the outskirts of Teotitlán. It felt like stepping into a private home as all members of the family welcomed us and showed us their amazing talents with the loom. Upcoming master weaver Victor recommended a great dinner spot and...

The first room I had was very noisy as it was right in front of the street and I could hear loud traffic all night, but the 2nd room in the inner courtyard was great! The host was very accommodating, and the breakfasts were delicious.

This was a fun experience and far away from the urban environment. Breakfast was good and lots of fresh fruits were provided which for us was a real treat. Coffee could have been better but it is not a cafe.

La Cupula is absolutely charming and comfortable. The gracious hosts provide what matters to travelers: morning coffee, access to a washing machine, and inviting places around the inn to gather and chat. Breakfast is surely the finest around. ...

This Moorish-style villa has open patios with incredible views of the Sierra Juarez Mountains. Master weaver Demetrio Bautista offers classes in rug weaving and natural dyes. His wife, Maribel, offers cooking classes in traditional Zapotec cuisine. The restaurant on site serves Oaxacan moles, tlayudas and much, much more.
For Demetrio the process of making a rug begins far above the village. It is here in the high meadowlands that he comes to gather the flowers and herbs that he’ll use to make many of the dyes he uses in the gorgeous tapetes that are earning this young weaver an international reputation and clientele. As the rainy season dwindles to a few brief weekly showers there are only a few remaining days in which to harvest. Soon many of the precious flowers which form the base of his dyes will be gone.
In our town the people are mainly weavers, so a lot of textiles to see, especially rugs. But also you can go hiking, bird watching, biking, and we have the a world-renowned restaurant called Tlamanalli; also there are other places to eat, and many shops to see mostly handcrafts, and the local museum, it is very safe, it is a small village.
