Sleeping in school ... "Logement de 12e stad" is a former school, built in 1907. It is a characteristic building and is centrally located in the village of Berlikum, the 12th city of Fryslân. In recent years, two beautiful, spacious and luxurious studios have been built here. Both studios are equipped with two comfortable single box spring beds. The number of sleeping places can be expanded with (maximum) two folding beds. A camping cot is available for the little ones. The studios also have a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with rain shower. Fully equipped, our guests can relax here. Due to its location on the Eleven Cities route, Berlikum offers a wonderful base for all kinds of activities and sights.
We are Peter and Karina de Vries and have been living in beautiful Berltsum (Berlikum) since 1996 in the former schoolmaster's house on the Hôfsleane. In 2017 we became the owner of the school building. Because it had been "in our garden" for 21 years, we already had plenty of ideas for the beautiful building. The renovation started in October 2017. In the evenings, weekends and holiday periods it has been transformed into a beautiful location to work and spend the night. The time has now come that we can welcome guests on the ground floor in two beautiful, spacious studios. Come and see. You are most welcome! Peter and Karina
Our building is centrally located in Berlikum, 80 meters from a bus stop (line 71, both to Leeuwarden and Harlingen). The area is very peaceful and quiet. Berlikum is located on the Elfsteden route. It is centrally located between Leeuwarden, Franeker and Harlingen. This offers countless opportunities for beautiful excursions. There are several museums in the area, but also nice walking & cycling routes through the beautiful Frisian landscape. The studios in our school are also a great base for a day trip to Terschelling or Vlieland.
