You are staying in one of the former changing-rooms of the local football-club, VV Hermes AVK, in our lovely village Annerveenschekanaal. Here is where the football-players used to have a c up of tea during the break and take a shower after the match. It has been transformed thoroughly into a small, yet very nice and cosy apartment, consisting of a livingroom/kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The beds can easily be united to a comfortable double bed. Of course you are allowed to bring your dog or even horse!
Owning the football-grounds since 2012 my husband and I have been enjoying turning them into a beautiful site with lots of trees. Sitting in the garden on a sunny day you can watch my horses grazing! Drenths Landgoed (Drenth`s Estate) refers to my familyname as well as the name of the province (Drenthe).
Annerveenschekanaal may be a small village, however, it is really enjoyable to take a walk around and visit the church that is now a nice pub where you can have a drink or a meal. Come and have a look at the old farms and historic bridge-master`s houses. What about hiring a canoe or a bike to explore the environment? You might even come across roes and their fawns wandering in the fields. The cities of Groningen and Assen are nearby, it will only take you 20 minutes to get there by car.
