A UNIQUE ADVENTURE Living on the water has always been my big dream. In 2020 I embarked on an adventure and started project Surla#1. Houseboats and Tiny houses are becoming increasingly more popular, but I couldn’t find an existing design that met all my needs. After months of preparation, numerous sketches, meetings with many partiesand a design development process with an architect as well naval construction engineers, the time hadfinally come. We started construction late October 2020 and on April 4 the following year Surla#1 went on its Maiden Voyage, fully equipped, operational and ready to become our home. We immensely enjoyed building Surla#1, our passion and fun during the development was reflected in the final result and even more by the overwhelming feedback and interest we received from the world around us. Soon it became clear to us we couldn’t keep this unique experience to ourselves. Together with my partner Judith, we founded the company Surla Group and are now professionally producing a series of Surla’s. Providing you the opportunity to either buy, rent or invest in a top of the line houseboat and start your own Surla adventure. Note: Surla has check-in hosts available at various locations. During winter(November till March) the boat will be docked in a cozy and peaceful harbour in Lisse. For a fee, you can use the wellness facilities in the harbour. During summer (March to October), the boat is off grid on Kagerplassen. This houseboat is build in 2023! This specific houseboat is suitable for 4 adults and 2 children. The houseboat is fully equipped, a kitchen with all necessary appliances, a living room with phenomenal views, a front deck with terrace, a warm outdoor shower and a roof terrace with lounge set. We place the houseboat in a beautiful spot in the middle of the Kagerplassen. These are located between Amsterdam and Leiden. A dinghy is included. You are very welcome to make unforgettable memories.

During SUMMER (March to October) The houseboat is located in the Kagerplassen in the province of South Holland. It is a beautiful nature reserve of 11 contiguous lakes and picturesque villages. After booking we will give you detailed instructions on where to park the car. We will pick you up by boat and escort you to the Houseboat. On board we will give you a detailed explanation and of course a tour. During your stay you will have access to an aluminum Tender (Dinghy) of 5 meters, with which you can explore the area and do your shopping. During WINTER (November till March) the houseboat located in cozy en peaceful harbour in Lisse. You have great views over the meadows here and overlook the rural windmills. Free parking is available at the harbour. More than a week before arrival you will receive a digital guide with instructions and tips about the area. This guide is also on board the houseboat.
