River nearby with lots of trout. Nice waterfall and hiking paths nearby. The hosts were very gracious. Knut came around to show us how to fish in the river and let us accompany him when he was checking the fishing nets. He lent us his fishing rods...

We mochten...

In diesem...

Fantastisk beliggenhed. Stilhed og ro, ingen stress. Let at kommunikere med værterne. Dejligt for børn mht. legeaktiviteter. Masser af spil til både ude og inde.

The house off the beaten track. If you want be totally alone in the woods in a house steeped in history, this is the place. Most of the inventory is historically and intact. A mini museum. Do not expect high standards and modern newly renovated premises. Anyway, best of all, free WIFI throughout the house. -You can drive your car right to the house, but recommend to park about 50m away. Free parking. Close by the house runs a river where you can fish small trout or swim. There are several nice waterfalls close by. Hiking trails up the mountain starts just 200 m from the house. Many different routes and peaks around. It is 700m to the port where you can use rowboats and fish for free as much as you want. Two single bicycles are also included in your rental. Alone in the woods is located on the island of Stord, between Bergen and Stavanger. Far out the Hardanger Fjord, on Norway`s west coast. -2 Hours from Bergen. -3 Hours from Stavanger. -3 Hours from Park Trolltunga. -4 Hours from Park Preiketolen(pulpit rock). -5 km to the restaurant, fast food and shopping center. Deserted area, with some farms around. Few or no other tourists in the area. You will see domesticated cows and wild animals such as deer close by the house. Two bathroom with toilet and shower. Standars in bathroom no 2 down in the basement is low. Bedroom no. 5 is normally locked, but open if needed. Recommend max 4 working travellers, if they require a single bedroom. Welcome to a rich historic farmhouse.
We are a couple, over 50 years old, with two little boys. We love being able to share our places, on the farm with guests from all over the world. We ourselves like fishing, hiking in the mountains, skiing, and running a farm with animals. We are committed to taking care of the environment. We prefer low consumption, take care of equipment, reuse of objects and local food. You won't find the latest fashion and new objects from Ikea with us. If you not traveling with your own car, and it does not fit with the local bus, we can provide transportation from the ferry dock in Sandvikvåg for a fee. You will receive a map to guide upon arrival, where the trails are marked. You can get advice from the landlord about recommended trips depending on how experienced hiker you are. There is plenty of water in the area, you know, boots are recommended. The fishing season is from May to October. A useful and informative folder is available in the house. We run the rental business full-time, and live only 500m from the house. If you need any help, we are there for you.
-Boats in the harbor can be borrowed for free. This is a big lake, and there are trout, arctic char and some salmon. Normal fish size is 200g, and you can fish for free. -You get more out of your trip if you bring your raincoats and waterproof boots with you. At times very wet you know. -About 20,000 people living on the island of Stord. -There are hospitals and anything else of help settings considers and facilities. -Middle of the island consists of wild mountain areas, with peaks of up to 750 meters above sea level with beautiful views. Many hiking paths and trails that makes migration of this nature even easier. Here is an abundance of bird and wildlife. Deer, hares, eagles and other birds are a common meeting. Anyway, fishing is most popular. There are a lot of small and big lakes. These are tied together with waterfalls, rivers and streams, all full of small trout. Everyone can fish all over and completely for free. Please bring with yourself fishing rod for use in the mountain lakes. Some guests have actually caught 110 trouts in some few days. The fishing season is from May to October. -You will receive a map to guide upon arrival, where the trails are marked. You can get advice from the landlord about recommended trips depending on how experienced hiker you are. -Our guests enjoy picking blueberries, porcini mushrooms and chanterelles around the property. -If you not traveling with your own car, and it does not fit with the local bus, I can provide transportation from the ferry dock in Sandvikvåg. Price 25 Euro. Travel by public transport all the way, without a rental car, you need 5,5 hours from Paris airport until you are inside The house off the beaten track. And completely for yourselves in the forest. -By staying here you can reach all sites in the article below, Search for: visitsunnhordland
