Very central location, short walking distance (within 100 meters) to shops and restaurants. Nearest groceryshop (Kiwi) is 50 meters away and is open from 7 AM to 11 PM. Also open on Sundays. French bakery at the neighborly Highland Lodge which is open from early morning. Their pastries for breakfast provide a great start to the day. In winter there is a 5-minutes walk to cross-country ski runs, and there is shuttle bus that runs all day between the downhill resorts. In summer there are many great hiking opportunities to choose from within walking distance of the apartment. Also many great oppurtunities for mountainbiking, both in the mountains and on cosy gravel roads.
The hosts are a family who have had a holiday home in Geilo for a number of years. We are well known in the area and use Geilo all year round. Please visit our website erikmeland(.)no for more hike descriptions.
Geilo is a fantastic all-year destination. In winter, many kilometers of cross country trails are being prepped, our apartment is a good starting point for the trails. The alpine facilities are located on both sides of the valley, shuttle bus brings you easily between the facilities. Several good restaurants and shops in the city center, just a few minutes walk from the apartment. Close by is Geilojordet, a cozy old museum with exhibits, outdoor cafe etc.
