Company information

Morgedal Camping is operated by Morgedal Hotel We are passionate about sharing the Morgedal experience with travellers from all over the world. Welcome to Morgedal.

Property information

Morgedal Camping is a small and quaint campground by the Morgedal lake. It is located 500 metres from the centre of Morgedal Village. We offer accommodation in a cozy little logcabin, and glamping in traditional lavvo tents as used by the Indigenous Sápmi people of Northern Norway. The logcabin is completely self contained, and the Lavvo tents share a modern facilities building with toilets and showers. We also have powered and unpowered sites for camping. The campgrounds has beach access to the Morgedal lake, and you are free to fish for trout and char, or use the boats, at your own risk. We welcome all travellers.

Neighbourhood information

Morgedal is a picturesque little village known as the "Cradle of Modern Skiing" as it was home to Sondre Norheim the skiing pioneer and also Olav Bjaaland the Polar Explorer. The village boasts a museum with a cafe, small shop, the outstanding restaurant; Bjaaland Bygderestaurant featuring local produce, as well as a small guesthouse and a hotel with dining room. There are plenty of hiking and skiing opportunities nearby. The E134 highway from Oslo to Bergen goes through the village. Morgedal is also an excellent base for visiting most of Telemark county.
