Neighbourhood information

Location and activities Gutubakken is a modern cabin area located a couple of kilometres before Sjusjøen centre, with great sun conditions during the day and ski-in ski-out access to Sjusjøen’s famous groomed cross-country trails. Sjusjøen also has an alpine resort with a chairlift to a fairly challenging slope and two children’s slopes with drag lifts. In summer this is the perfect starting point for long hikes or cycling trips. The trail network in Ringsaks- and Øyerfjellet is fantastic, and the extensive Birkebeiner route is ideal for regular mountain biking. Here you can cycle, fish, go hiking, and there are plenty of activities for children, such as horse riding, swimming and playgrounds. At Natrudstilen you will find a café, mountain biking trails for both adults and children, a pump track, frisbee golf and a bathing area at Eftastjernet. The water keeps a comfortable temperature in summer because the lake is man-made and shallow. Suitable bikes can be rented at the ski centre if you don’t bring your own. Sjusjøen is also a hiking paradise throughout the summer season. Choose from easy trails around Lake Sjusjøen, or hikes with views towards Jotunheimen and Rondane. You can climb peaks such as Lunkefjellet, or join the 7-summit tour for a real mountain experience. Trails start right outside the cabin – choose between forest paths, mountain terrain and wide-open plateaus. Practical information: Bed linen and towels: Not included. You can bring your own or rent for 250 NOK per set. Please let us know in advance if you wish to rent. Cleaning: Included in the final price, but guests must prepare the cabin for cleaning according to instructions. The wood-fired hot tub is available from April to October for an additional fee. Use must be booked in advance – please send a request if you wish to use it. Easter holiday: Bookings are possible for the following periods: Friday–Wednesday, Wednesday–Monday or the entire Easter week.
