For advanced ski-tourers, we can suggest to consider Skaland as your base camp as most of the famous mountain peaks are along the scenic route towards to north west coastline.

SW-oriented, with huge windows and a veranda boasting gorgeous open views to fjords, islands and mountains. You've landed in the right place. Senja Island is Norway's second-largest island, covering a vast distance of almost 1000 square kilometres. This beautiful island is famous for jagged mountain peaks, sleepy fishing villages, incredible white sand beaches and expansive pine forests. This island is a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, hikers, and activity enthusiasts of all kinds. In winter and spring adventurers travellers can enjoy ski-touring, cross country skiing (all levels possible), snowshoeing, cod fishing, and in the summer and autumn travellers can enjoy hiking, long walks along endless beaches, berry picking, and so much more. Senja is perfectly located, far above the Arctic Circle. Travellers can experience arctic living and enjoy life under the midnight sun (May - July) and for the chance to see the Northern Lights (September - April).
