This is the second time we have stayed here - and it will not be the last. We just love the location, the quietness, the privacy, and facility. All round great!

Location was out in the countryside, beautiful scenery, completely quiet. We had the cabin and it was very private. The grounds are beautiful with crystals and statues and beautiful peacefulness. Breakfast supplies in the well equipped kitchen.

We stayed in the cabin which was beautiful and secluded. Check in was super easy, and Tracy was friendly, communication was clear. It's a short drive from town, so on a clear night you can see the stars really well.

Company information

My background is quite diverse; from a legal background specialising in company and commercial law to commission manufacturing 100% NZ made homewares with a focus on natural fibres (pure new wool, merino lambswool and eco possum fur) into high quality blankets and throws. With over five generations in woollen spinning from Yorkshire, England after law, I followed my family into textiles and oversaw the implementation and accreditation of ISO9001 for the family’s weaving mill in Auckland. I believe New Zealand’s wool growers produce some of the best wool worldwide and with my heritage in yarn spinning it feels ‘second nature’ for me to believe in natural fibres. I have exhibited my homewares in Europe, Australia and locally. A new pathway into holistic health with a love for healing animals and becoming a Reiki Master and Teacher practitioner has been a life changing experience. The Homestead that has been designed and built according to classical Feng Shui also reflects my love of colour. And I feel colour and the energy it provides needs to be celebrated and embraced more into our lives. I look forward to providing you with a beautiful stay on our farm.

Neighbourhood information

We are ideally situated to two towns nearby. Wellsford is a service town, four minutes away by car and Warkworth a larger town with more cafes and shops is approximately 20 minutes by car. I would describe our valley as predominately rural with dairy herds and dry stock (beef) farms. We are close to civilisation 'so to speak' but with our beautiful trees and natural landscapes, you feel the peace and quiet. Being close to State Highway One, we are literally a gateway to Northland and with the Far North further beyond. This part of New Zealand is quiet unique, as we are close to both the West and East coasts of the North Island. If you want to experience a white sand beach that feels like you are the only person there, then Pakiri is only 15 minutes away by car. On the other hand, if you would like to experience another beach with more people, then Mangawhai Heads is quite spectacular (30 minutes by car). Would you like to try fresh fish and homemade Tartare sauce? Then, I would recommend, The General Store at Port Albert (west of Wellsford) open 7 days a week. What about homemade chocolates? Again Bennett's store and cafe will not disappoint at Mangawhai Village.
