Property information

Burnside Homestead is a category 1 NZ listed heritage property. A grand country home built in the late Victorian era (1890’s), Burnside has retained almost all of its original features. The extensive gardens were planted 30 years before the house was built and have matured into a quiet and bird filled woodland and park for wandering amongst. Burnside Homestead offers an experience as much as a place to stay, a step back into the opulence of the past. If family groups would like to book the entire house please be in touch as we can place a special booking offer that allows for access to the kitchen

Neighbourhood information

Burnside is located inland from Oamaru in the beautiful Waitaki Valley. It is a celebratory luxury stop on the last leg of the Alps to Ocean cycle trail, and a peaceful and picturesque place to base a stay in the Waitaki district. A short distance from the A2O cycle trail with easy access for cycling. If family groups would like to book the entire house please be in touch as we can place a special booking offer that allows for access to the kitchen
