For a day at the beach, head to nearby Palm Beach, just a 3-minute drive away. This spot is perfect for safe swimming and has a playground and BBQ area.
The bus stop is a one-minute walk away, so you can leave the car behind. It's a 15-minute walk to the supermarket, markets, and post office, and you can pick up a pizza nearby. A 20-minute walk or 3-minute drive takes you to the local dairy, while you can cozy up inside at Arcadia café for a romantic dinner, or gather on the covered deck and beer garden area. In 5 minutes, you can drive to the markets at Ostend and wineries at Stoneyridge and Te Motu. Oneroa Beach and village, with its selection of cafes and restaurants, are also just a short drive away.

Waiheke Island is the largest island in the inner Hauraki Gulf, and combines the comfort of small town community with city life, as many residents commute daily to Auckland City. Waiheke is home to a number of local artists, crafts people and writers, who all enjoy the unique combination of lifestyles that the island offers. Visitors to Waiheke will enjoy the award-winning vineyards, charter boats and tours, kayaking, horse trekking, mountain biking, bushwalking and golfing. Onetangi is well-known for its wide, safe swimming beach and is a popular spot for picnics and gatherings. Ostend is the central hub of Waiheke Island and is home to the Saturday Morning Markets, where visitors can enjoy local produce and crafts. It is also a short drive from delightful Rocky Bay, a sheltered South-side bay offering peace, tranquility, and the ambiance of Waiheke Island of years gone by. Whakanewha Regional Park, located in the southern part of Waiheke, is a native coastal forest with a fantastic network of walking tracks. It is home to a variety of native flora and fauna, including the Kererū, pīwakawaka, tūī, grey warbler, and silver eye. The park also features a historic Māori pā site and Pākehā settlements.
