We love how comfortable the beds are! A well-mannered cat came for a visit. The house is full of positive energy. What a pity we came and went in rainy weather, the lake view must be beautiful in clear days!

The location is absolutely stunning, and the cottage itself is warm, cozy, and full of charm. We spent Memorial Weekend here with family and friends, and it was truly unforgettable. A perfect getaway for creating lasting memories.

Lochsloy Farm stands at the head of Lake Wairewa, with views across the lake to Kaitorete Spit, and beyond, to the sea. It is a small working farm, producing sheep for wool, and with a small forestry block and a stand of native bush. While here, you can experience some of New Zealand's rarer native birds, such as the tui, keruru and bellbird. Feel free to enjoy our eighteen acres - commune with the animals or walk through our small area of native bush.
Rob & Marie live on Banks Peninsula, in the South Island of New Zealand, husband and wife for a number of years. We write, grow vegetables, labradors, chickens, sheep and sometimes make things from wool and wood.
Little River is often referred to as The Gateway to Banks Peninsula. From Lochsloy Farm it's just a short drive to Birdling's Flat, where you can find gemstones on the beach. The popular tourist destination of Akaroa is a half hour drive, while the Rail Trail cycle way is a five minute ride from your door. There are dozens of walks on the peninsula, some easy and others more challenging. Or you can enjoy driving some of the scenic routes around the peninsula, and visit some of our historic sites.
