We are on 10 acres and it is like living in the middle of a park.
The sunrise and sunsets, trees, autumn (fall) colours, grass, springtime blossom, winter frosts and the birdsong in the mornings and late afternoons are breath taking. Starlight at night and early in the morning - Sensational.
You can sit at the window in the sunshine and watch the ducks coming in to bathe in the little pond. Springtime they bring their babies. Sit watching the rain fall while you are enjoying the toasty warm underfloor heating.
We live an easy lifestlye, quiet and peaceful. Lots of reading time and areas in our home.
Pop on a pair of gumboots to head out the back to collect fresh laid eggs from my many chickens
for your breakfast. You are welcome to pop in the kitchen to chat while I make breakfast or come and make your own. Breakfast can be had anytime at our house. The kitchen is also available anytime for you to make a hot or cold drink.
From the kitchen you can see into the retreat area. Pool, cold plunge, hot tub, gym and sauna are waiting for you.
Not a party house however we are known to enjoy an early evening tipple and a game of pool.
You can visit a local bottle store to select your preferred wine /beer or spirit to
enjoy with your game of pool. We have a 3/4 size snooker table that might challenge
your pool playing ability. Do you know the NZ rules for pool?
Welcome to Christchurch here in the South Island of New Zealand. Our favourite place in the world.
Blair is the quieter of us 2 unless you are talking wine or movies, speakers and stereo equipment.
If you take a moment to watch and listen in his theatre you might be gone for hours and its loud.
My 2 favourite things apart from my 6 grandbabies are my chickens and my White and Pink limousines.
I have about 100 chickens from small bantams/silkies to Rhode Island Reds and Brahms. Mmm mmm fresh eggs everyday.
Having travelled across the world ourselves we would love to have you come and stay for a day or 2 in our home. We enjoy low maintenance people who will let me know while you are here if there is something I can change/fix to make your stay better for you.
Rural fringe is how we describe where we live. We are 5 -25 minutes walk or drive away from everywhere.
New Brighton Pier to Christchurch Airport. City centre to Hagley Park Cricket grounds. Apollo stadium and the almost complete (April 2026) ONE NZ stadium. A lovely limo ride to our Court theatre or Issac Theatre Royal or Town Hall. Hot pools and the ocean in New Brighton and a new Brewing bar.
Shopping Malls, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants all only a short ride/drive from our home.
For walking and cycling we have wetlands walkways and cycle ways from our home to the city or to the sea.
We also have the ongoing construction of Homebase and the continuous upgrading of Prestons.
So many opportunities to enjoy what Marshlands and Christchurch have to offer.
