Algarve Holidays In our holiday home "Casa Margarida Azul", right in the historic center of Silves you will experience the Portuguese everyday life of a centuries-old city that rises with its castle on the banks of the Arade between hills and orange groves. The town house from 1857 was modernized by us in 2017/18, creating a symbiosis of traditional materials and a modern way of life. The kitchen, living room and bedroom have a state-of-the-art air conditioning system that you can use to heat on cold days. Especially beautiful is the roof terrace, which rises above the roofs of the city, unforgettable the light of the sunrises and sunsets and the typical "Algarve-fragrancy" of figs, oranges and strawberry tree - mixed with the salt of the fresh Atlantic air. From here you can explore the wonderful landscapes, towns and beaches of the Algarve. Due to the use of biological cleaning and laundry detergents allergy sufferers feel comfortable in the house. Allergy vacuum cleaner available. Pets are not allowed, no smoking in the house, no parties. Please understand that we charge additional costs for exceptionally high electricity consumption. (Over 25 kWh/day)
We are a small family in the big city of Berlin. Ines works as a city planner and monument conservator, Uli as a cameraman and filmmaker and Ben is a student and sings in the choir of the Komische Oper Berlin. Our new house in Silves is great! The work and all the excitement of the construction phase was worth it - 3 weeks summer holidays in the Algarve with many nature and cultural experiences for our little family!
We have set up various online services and websites with tips for you. After booking you will automatically be informed! NOTE: Every year in August, there is a big, spectacular medieval festival in the old town of Silves, the "Feira Medieval de Silves". With this festival the city reminds of its impressive history in the region. Please research the date of the event on the internet. During this time the old town is closed for car traffic!
