Cozy Xisto was built in early nineteen-hundreds and recently restored. The property comprises of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living/dining room, fully fitted kitchen and small patio with BBQ area. We are based in the old Village of Mata with small cafes and mini markets available, 17KM from Castelo Branco, 40KM from Penamacor and the Historical Village of Monsanto. Serra da Estrela is 1h drive away through beautiful countryside. Also nearby you have an array of Fluvial beaches (Incl. Idanha Nova where the famous BOOM festival occurs, 25min drive away) and swimming pool open in the summer months where weather temperatures can reach mid 40c.
Walk your way around the beautiful countryside in the area or if you are more adventurous, you can bring your mountain bikes and enjoy some pretty cool hills and off-road tracks in the area too! In the summer months starting from 15th June to 31st September there is a large communal swimming pool in Castelo Branco fee required to enter..and several river beaches in the area .
Cozy Xisto is located on a very peaceful and chilled out Village, most of the locals are retired and spend most of the days in they're small farms taking care of the organic produce and animals. There are two small mini-marts were you can buy an array of cured meats, fresh vegetables, drinks etc… and local cafes were you can seat and enjoy an espresso before exploring the area.
